Baseball Preview: Charles Henderson Trojans vs. Montgomery Catholic Knights        
        
		
            The Charles Henderson Trojans will take on the Montgomery Catholic Knights at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Both come into the  game bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Last Monday, Charles Henderson beat Rehobeth 7-3.

 Clay Johnson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits. That's the fewest  earned runs  he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances. Those two  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high.
 Johnson wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Chase Vaznaian, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Montgomery Catholic earned  an  8-3 victory over Alabama Christian Academy  on Tuesday.
Like Charles Henderson, Montgomery Catholic also got a great game from a two-way player:  Gregory Rauch. Throwing,  Rauch   tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. Meanwhile,  Jordan Jackson   tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. At bat,  Rauch  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3, while  Jackson  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Ethan Levanda was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kam Miller, who  went 2-for-3 with one  double and one  RBI.
 The  win  got Montgomery Catholic back to even at 1-1. As for Charles Henderson,  the  victory also got them back to even at 1-1.
 Charles Henderson came out on top in a nail-biter against Montgomery Catholic when the teams last played  back in February of 2024, sneaking past  2-1.
