Football Recap: Lakeland's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

Lakeland and St. Thomas Aquinas squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Lakeland had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders and fell 34-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Dreadnaughts were not able to get on the board.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Thomas Aquinas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chance Washington, who rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Washington a new career-high. Another signal caller making a difference was Andrew Indorf, who threw for 168 yards and one touchdown.

With the defeat, Lakeland broke their 19-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-1. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.
