Southwestern Heights extended their home winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Juanita Puentes. The Southwestern Heights Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 38-35 win over the Lakin Broncs on Tuesday thanks in part to Puentes, who went 8 of 17 to rack up 20 points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played.

Southwestern Heights' victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Lakin, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-6.

Southwestern Heights didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-37 defeat against Stanton County on the 7th. As for Lakin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 48-38 loss against Cimarron on the 7th.
