Football Game Preview: Splendora Wildcats vs. West Fork Gators + How To Watch

The Splendora Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the West Fork Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Splendora has given up an average of 36.8 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 56-6, which was the final score in Splendora's tilt against Nederland on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 758th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 294th).

Despite the loss, Splendora had strong showings from Tj Burch, who picked up 84 receiving yards and one touchdown, and Brayden Hinton, who threw for 99 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, West Fork ended up a good deal behind Huntsville on Friday and lost 38-21. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Although West Fork took the loss, they still got scores from Kylin Patin, Jailen Jones, and Smith Rollins.

Splendora's record now sits at 2-2. As for West Fork, their record is now an identical 2-2.

Thursday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Splendora has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 151.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like West Fork struggles in that department as they've been averaging 191.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Splendora couldn't quite finish off West Fork in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 and fell 24-21. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
