Baseball Game Preview: Academy for College and Career Exploration vs. Patterson Clippers

Academy for College and Career Exploration and Patterson are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. Academy for College and Career Exploration will challenge Patterson at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.

Academy for College and Career Exploration easily dispatched Edmondson-Westside on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Academy for College and Career Exploration fell just short of Mergenthaler Vo-Tech by a score of 8-6 on Wednesday.

Devin Gollick was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. Kennard Swinton was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Patterson). Everything went their way against Edmondson-Westside on Thursday as they made off with a 24-12 victory. The Clippers haven't had any issues with the Red Storm recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Patterson's victory bumped their record up to 3-0-1. As for Academy for College and Career Exploration, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Everything went Academy for College and Career Exploration's way against Patterson when the teams last played back in April of 2023, as Academy for College and Career Exploration made off with a 21-7 win.
