Volleyball Recap: Robertson Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Robertson was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Socorro on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals fell just short of the Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Elks/Elkettes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Robertson actually scored more points across those five sets (108-95), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-23, 12-25, 15-25, 18-16.

Leading Pojoaque Valley to victory were Camilla DeVargas and Mariah Leyba. DeVargas had 24 digs, while Leyba had nine digs and two aces.

Robertson's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Pojoaque Valley, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Robertson will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Raton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pojoaque Valley, they will host St. Michael's at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
