Baseball Recap: Pioneer's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Pioneer had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 4-5 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Triton Trojans. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Trojans on Saturday, they had to take a 17-3 loss.

Dawson Eggers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Noah Miller, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brodie Howard, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As for Triton, they now have a losing record of 3-4. They were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the four matchups prior), but Pioneer's pitchers proved too tough.

On Triton's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Bingamon, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Bingamon has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pioneer will face off against Bremen at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Triton, they will host Fort Wayne Crusaders at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
