Basketball Recap: Kelly Takes a Loss

Kelly was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the Oak Ridge Blue Jays. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-36 last Thursday.

Reagan Howe was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 14 points, 11 rebounds, and nine blocks for Oak Ridge. The dominant performance also gave Howe a new career-high in steals (five). Another player making a difference was Madyson Ruehling, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Kelly's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Oak Ridge, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-7.

Kelly does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Oak Ridge has already played their next contest (against Chaffee), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
