Recap: Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars vs. Franklin Road Academy Panthers
The Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars were the 57-39 winner over the Franklin Road Academy Panthers when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Middle Tennessee Christian was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 37-36 to Franklin Road Academy. Middle Tennessee Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Middle Tennessee Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Graham, who scored 15 points. Graham hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Riley Smith was another key contributor, scoring two points along with three steals.
Middle Tennessee Christian now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Franklin Road Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middle Tennessee Christian will take on Grace Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Franklin Road Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Columbia Academy at 1:00 p.m. on January 27th. Hopefully Columbia Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Tuesday.
