Recap: Millington Central Trojans vs. Newton Rams
On Monday, things could have been worse for Millington Central, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-43 loss to Newton. Millington Central has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bailey Boone, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Alana Whiten, who scored ten points.
Newton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Imari Humphrey, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Humphrey has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sanaa Tripp, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Millington Central's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Newton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Millington Central will take on Brighton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Newton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Parkview at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
