The Mesquite Wildcats will head out to take on the Campo Verde Coyotes at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Mesquite is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Mesquite earned a 9-5 win over St. Mary's. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Mesquite got a big performance out of Jensen Jones, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Andres Lozano was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Mesquite lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Campo Verde lost 9-3 to Canyon View on Wednesday. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kaden Evahnenko was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. He also put up a home run, which was his first of the season.

Campo Verde's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Mesquite, their record is now 14-6.

Mesquite suffered a grim 10-4 defeat to Campo Verde in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
