Baseball Recap: Korbin Fogler's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Garrard County over Boyle County

Garrard County had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 8-19 to make it four. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to the Boyle County Rebels, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-2 defeat back in April.

Garrard County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Korbin Fogler, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

As for Boyle County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games.

On Boyle County's side, Caeden Patterson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. Patterson has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

As of now, neither Garrard County nor Boyle County have any future games scheduled.
