Volleyball Recap: Silver Stage Nighthawks vs. North Tahoe Lakers

Silver Stage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the North Tahoe Lakers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lakers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-15, 25-12.

Lauren Broughton paced Silver Stage's offense, picking up two kills. Broughton got some help from Robin Smith and her two assists. Amy Welch controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

North Tahoe got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Makenna Larkins out in front who had eight aces and five digs. Those eight aces gave Larkins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dawna Li, who had five digs and five aces.

Silver Stage's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for North Tahoe, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Silver Stage and Sierra Lutheran will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Tahoe, they will venture away from home to square off against Coral Academy of Science - Reno at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
