Baseball Game Preview: Ida Baker Bulldogs vs. Immokalee Indians

The Ida Baker Bulldogs will take on the Immokalee Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ida Baker is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Ida Baker didn't have quite enough to beat Oasis and fell 8-7.

Aiden Long made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Ida Baker's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 6-12 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Robbie Hensley, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Immokalee made easy work of East Lee County on Thursday and carried off a 12-2 win. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Aiden Puente was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Adrian Ramirez was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Immokalee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Immokalee's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-10. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Ida Baker, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.
