Recap: Union Spartans vs. Hobbton Wildcats
In what's become a running theme this season, the Union Spartans gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Hobbton 53-18 at home. While fans of Union might be used to big wins, the 35-point margin marked the team's biggest win yet this season.
Union was led to victory by Ariyona Spearman and Zadariyah Faison. Spearman dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, while Faison scored 23 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Faison has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Hobbton saw an underclassman step up: Miley McLamb scored nine points.
Union is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Hobbton, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union will challenge the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hobbton, they will head out on the road to challenge the Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in North Duplin's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while the Wildcats have been banged up by 11 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
