Softball Recap: Santa Rosa Has No Trouble Against Highland

Santa Rosa saw some tournament action on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Highland Hornets as Santa Rosa made off with a 20-7 win. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly 13 runs.

The team relied heavily on Leah Moncayo, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (five). Amaya Gonzales was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Moncayo wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Santa Rosa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.

The victory got Santa Rosa back to even at 3-3. As for Highland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
