Collierville had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Holly Springs on Wednesday. The Dragons put the hurt on the Golden Hawks with a sharp 8-1 win. Considering the Dragons have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was Collierville's fifth in a row) raised their record to 22-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Holly Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

Looking ahead, Collierville will challenge Huntington Beach at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games the Oilers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Holly Springs, they will head out to challenge Panther Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
