Soccer Game Preview: McLane vs. Selma

McLane has gone a perfect 3-0 against Selma recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Highlanders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bears at 5:30 p.m. McLane will be strutting in after a win while Selma will be coming in after a loss.

If Selma heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when McLane took over last week. The Highlanders came out on top against Hanford by a score of 3-1 on Friday. That's two games straight that McLane have won by exactly two goals.

Pedro Tovar and Wilber Ruiz scored all three of McLane's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Meanwhile, Selma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Sanger West. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Selma couldn't quite close it out.

Selma's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for McLane, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1-2.

Everything went McLane's way against Selma in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as McLane made off with a 4-1 win. Do the Highlanders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
