Basketball Recap: Torrey Pines Falcons vs. Sage Creek Bobcats
The Torrey Pines Falcons won the last time they faced the Sage Creek Bobcats, and things went their way on Friday too. Torrey Pines walked away with a 58-45 win over the Bobcats. Given Torrey Pines' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Bobcats are ranked 247th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Torrey Pines got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Max Zylicz out in front who scored 15 points. Dylan Kail was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Torrey Pines has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for Sage Creek, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-12.
Torrey Pines won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Aztecs at 6:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Montgomery has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 673 points over their last nine games. As for Sage Creek, they will head out on the road to take on the Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carlsbad will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.
