Basketball Recap: Nouvel Catholic Central Takes a Loss

Nouvel Catholic Central has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Frankenmuth Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while the Eagles are ranked 110th).

Frankenmuth's win on Wednesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aiden Labissoniere, who posted nine points. Labissoniere is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ethan Mcniel, who earned nine points.

Nouvel Catholic Central's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Frankenmuth, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Nouvel Catholic Central has already played their next game, a 53-40 defeat against Ithaca on the 21st. As for Frankenmuth, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 51-39 loss against Milford on the 21st.
