Recap: Oconto Falls Panthers vs. Freedom Irish
The Oconto Falls Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Freedom, falling 87-41. While losing is never fun, Oconto Falls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 379th, while Freedom is ranked 63rd).
Oconto Falls' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jameson Beaman, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds, and Alex Haines who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Grayson Cahak, who scored five points.
Oconto Falls bumped their record down to 2-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Freedom, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
Oconto Falls has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Little Chute at 7:00 p.m. on January 15th.
