Softball Preview: Gothenburg Swedes vs. Bayard Tigers        
        
		
             Gothenburg has been away from home for four games now, but  on Thursday they'll finally make their return. They will welcome the Bayard Tigers. Gothenburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8  runs per game  this season.
 Last Saturday, Gothenburg came up short against Alliance  and fell  13-8.
  Aubrey Cross made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.  Taye Herrick was another key player,  scoring two  runs.
 Even though they lost, Gothenburg was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .429. The last time their  batting average was this high was  back in September of 2023.
 Meanwhile,  after only two  runs in their last  contest, Bayard made sure to put some  runs up on the board against Wray/Yuma  on Saturday. Bayard put the hurt on Wray/Yuma with a sharp  12-1 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  win the Tigers have posted  since August 23rd.
  Shayleigh West was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with a  home run, two  runs, and a  stolen base. She is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games she's  played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Miracle Tervino, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 3-for-4.
 Gothenburg's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Bayard, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6-1.
 Everything went Gothenburg's way against Bayard in their previous meeting  back in September of 2022 as Gothenburg made off with  a  15-0 win. Does  Gothenburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bayard turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
