Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln-Way West Warriors vs. Homewood-Flossmoor Vikings

The Lincoln-Way West Warriors will head out to challenge the Homewood-Flossmoor Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Lincoln-Way West turned things around against Stagg on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Chargers as they made off with a 58-38 win. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while the Chargers are ranked 597th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Homewood-Flossmoor waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They breezed by the Wildcats to the tune of 74-46. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 26 points or more this season.

Homewood-Flossmoor's victory bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Lincoln-Way West, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Lincoln-Way West was dealt a bruising 83-41 loss at the hands of Homewood-Flossmoor when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Lincoln-Way West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
