Softball Game Preview: York Dukes vs. Leyden Eagles

The York Dukes are taking a road trip to take on the Leyden Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, York didn't have quite enough to beat Conant and fell 7-5.

Lillianah (Lilly) Burda was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sara Steinecker, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Leyden not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 24, 2024. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Maine East an 11-0 shutout. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Blue Demons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

York came up short against Leyden in their previous matchup back in March of 2022, falling 6-3. Can York avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
