Softball Recap: Valley Takes a Loss

Valley fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Williamstown on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 6-5. The Lumberjacks just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.

Micheala Miller spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on 12 hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Demi Long was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Long is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-20. As for Williamstown, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-19.

As of now, neither Valley nor the Yellowjackets have any future games scheduled.
