Preview: Beth Haven Bearcats vs. Holy Cross Cougars
Beth Haven has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Holy Cross Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Even though Beth Haven has not done well against Pleasure Ridge Park recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Beth Haven came out on top against Pleasure Ridge Park by a score of 66-57.
Beth Haven's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaac Cornwell led the charge by scoring 19 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Michael Ray Stinnett, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Holy Cross put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Whitefield Academy as Holy Cross made off with a 67-42 win. Fans of Holy Cross have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Holy Cross got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacob Hand out in front who scored 14 points along with 5 steals. The matchup was Hand's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Myers, who scored 12 points along with 3 blocks.
Beth Haven's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Holy Cross, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Beth Haven hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 65.2 points per game. However, it's not like Holy Cross struggles in that department as they've been even better at 79.2 per game.
