Volleyball Recap: Medway Mustangs vs. Ashland Clockers

Medway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Ashland Clockers, falling 3-0. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Clockers when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Medway was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Ashland work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-13, 26-24.

Kaylie HIggins paced Medway's offense, picking up eight kills. HIggins got some help from Lucy Mitchell and her 18 assists. Mitchell was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Quinn Herter was the offensive standout of the match as she had 12 digs and four aces. Those four aces gave her a new career-high. Marsia Carroll also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Medway's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Ashland, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Medway will take on rival Norwood at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Ashland is set to square off against their familiar foe Millis at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
