Basketball Game Preview: Craigmont Chiefs vs. Bolton Wildcats

The Craigmont Chiefs are taking a road trip to challenge the Bolton Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Craigmont is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Wednesday. They lost 83-58 to Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering. While losing is never fun, the Chiefs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 288th, while the Phoenix are ranked 91st).

Meanwhile, Bolton suffered their biggest loss since November 22nd on Thursday. They came up short against Memphis Central, falling 86-65. The Wildcats have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Bolton's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-6. As for Craigmont, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Craigmont and Bolton were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but Craigmont came up empty-handed after a 76-75 defeat. Can Craigmont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
