Softball Game Preview: Roosevelt Bears vs. Trenton Trojans

Roosevelt hasn't had much luck against Trenton recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bears will venture away from home to take on the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. Neither Roosevelt nor Trenton posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Roosevelt fell victim to Carlson and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Marauders, falling 6-0. Surprisingly, this marked the Bears' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Meanwhile, Trenton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 15-2 to Woodhaven.

Trenton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Analy Guth, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Trenton's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Roosevelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-8.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Roosevelt hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Trenton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

Roosevelt couldn't quite get it done against Trenton in their previous matchup back in April as they fell 5-2. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
