Softball Recap: Mt. Zion Bulldogs vs. Drew        
        
		
             Mt. Zion won the last time they faced Drew, and things went their way  on Wednesday too. The Mt. Zion Bulldogs blew past Drew 16-3. Considering the Bulldogs have won 11 matchups by more than six  runs this season, Wednesday's  blowout was nothing new.
  Kayla James was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out six batters over  four innings while giving up  three earned runs off only  one  hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run, two  stolen bases,  and three  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Haley Howell and  Lacey Collier did most of the damage at the plate:  Howell  went 2-for-2 with a  home run, three  runs,  and four  RBI, while  Collier  scored three  runs and  stole eight bases while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances. What's more,  Howell also racked up two  hits, the mostshe's  had since back in August. Another player making a difference was  D'Adrienne Jones, who  scored two  runs and  stole four bases while  getting on base  in two of her three plate appearances.
 Mt. Zion's victory  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 11-4. As for Drew,  they are  on  a  47-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-23.
 Mt. Zion does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Drew, they will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Morrow  at 5:30  p.m.
