Basketball Recap: Patrick Henry Takes a Loss

Patrick Henry and George Wythe squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Patrick Henry had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the George Wythe Maroons and fell 82-54. The Rebels haven't had much luck with the Maroons recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Patrick Henry lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Cole Caywood, who shot 41% from the field on his way to 18 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aidan Monahan, who posted ten points along with six boards and three steals.

Patrick Henry's defeat dropped their record down to 26-4. As for George Wythe, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 20 of their last 21 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record this season.

Patrick Henry does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for George Wythe, they will challenge Franklin at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Franklin comes in on five and George Wythe on 19.
