Basketball Recap: Tayt Jackson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bristow over Kiefer

Bristow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 76-55 to the Kiefer Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while the Trojans are ranked 77th).

Bristow lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tayt Jackson, who went 11 for 20 on his way to 28 points. Those 28 points gave Jackson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brian Hopgood. Jr., who went 7 of 11 en route to 15 points and six rebounds.

Bristow's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Kiefer, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.

Bristow will host Perkins-Tryon at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bristow is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season. As for Kiefer, they will square off against Mannford at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Kiefer's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
