Baseball Recap: Chino Hills Gets the Win

Chino Hills won the last time they faced Don Lugo and things went their way on Thursday too. The Chino Hills Huskies walked away with a 5-2 win over the Don Lugo Conquistadores. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

Michael Chiotti looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Jackson Aguayo was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matt Mendez, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Chino Hills hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in ten consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Chino Hills' victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Chino Hills is taking a road trip to challenge Kennedy at 3:00 p.m. on February 28th. As for Don Lugo, they will take on Rancho Cucamonga at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
