Baseball Recap: South Bend Saint Joseph Huskies vs. NorthWood Panthers
South Bend Saint Joseph extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 21-6 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the NorthWood Panthers. That's two games in a row now that the Huskies have lost by just one run.
Owen Futa led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Dallas Downey, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
As for NorthWood, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-10. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

As for NorthWood, they will venture away from home to take on Crown Point at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
