Basketball Game Preview: Calvert Senecas vs. Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains

Calvert and Hopewell-Loudon are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Calvert Senecas will be playing at home against the Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Calvert will be strutting in after a win while Hopewell-Loudon will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Saturday, Calvert narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past St. Joseph Central Catholic 45-42. Given the Senecas' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Crimson Streaks are ranked 714th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Hopewell-Loudon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 43-35 to Gibsonburg.

Calvert's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Hopewell-Loudon, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Calvert strolled past Hopewell-Loudon when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 53-39. Will Calvert repeat their success, or does Hopewell-Loudon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
