Baseball Recap: Kellis Takes a Loss

Kellis had lost six straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 3-16 to make it seven. They came up short against the McClintock Chargers, falling 10-0. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2018.

As for McClintock, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season. Considering they have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For McClintock's part, Elias Baldwin made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Baldwin has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lucas Wisehart was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Cole Rentschler, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kellis will venture away from home to square off against Ironwood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McClintock, they will head out to take on North at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
