Basketball Recap: New Plymouth's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

New Plymouth was the 76-66 winner over The Ambrose School when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The New Plymouth Pilgrims fell 68-57 to The Ambrose School Archers on Wednesday. The Pilgrims were down 59-35 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

The Ambrose School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lincoln Mathis led the charge by putting up 22 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Tristen Trevino was another key player, going 8 for 16 en route to 21 points and three steals.

New Plymouth's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-6. As for The Ambrose School, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-5.

New Plymouth will welcome Marsing at 7:35 p.m. on Tuesday. As for The Ambrose School, they will challenge Parma at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Parma knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully The Ambrose School likes a good challenge.
