Softball Recap: University Christian Christians vs. West Nassau Warriors
University Christian dropped their record down to 15-4 on Monday, which also ended the team's 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the West Nassau Warriors by a score of 4-3. The Christians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
University Christian saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Piper Tessier, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
As for West Nassau, their win bumped their record up to 11-9. Surprisingly, this marked their fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
On West Nassau's side, Kelsea Bass spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Bass.
On the hitting side, Rylie Turner was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Lauren Rosepiler also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
University Christian has already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against St. Johns Country Day on the 22nd. As for West Nassau, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 1-0 defeat against Matanzas on the 22nd.
