Soccer Game Preview: Amundsen vs. Taft

Amundsen hasn't had much luck against Taft recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Vikings will welcome the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Monday just wasn't the day for Amundsen's offense. They came up short against Lane Tech on Monday, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Amundsen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while Lane Tech are ranked 40th).

Meanwhile, Taft also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 4-0 to Whitney Young on Monday. Taft haven't had much luck with Whitney Young recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Amundsen's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1-1 and their overall record down to 4-5-1. As for Taft, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5-1.
