Soccer Game Preview: Huntley vs. McHenry

The Huntley Red Raiders will head out on the road to take on the McHenry Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Huntley's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Huntley is headed into the contest without a loss and will look to keep things rolling. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Crystal Lake Central on Tuesday, sneaking past 1-0. Maizie Nickle had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Huntley.

Meanwhile, neither McHenry nor Hampshire could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Huntley's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those four matches. McHenry's draw makes their record 1-3-3 this season.

Everything went Huntley's way against McHenry in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Huntley made off with a 5-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Raiders since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
