Volleyball Recap: Sharon Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Sharon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Methuen Rangers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rangers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on September 6th.

While Sharon was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Methuen's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-15, 26-24.

Methuen's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kathryn Driend led the charge by getting three digs, three aces, and one block. Driend is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last 13 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Gracye Neel, who had six aces, three digs, and three blocks.

Sharon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Methuen, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sharon will square off against Foxborough at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Methuen, they will face off against North Andover at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
