Baseball Recap: Kenosha Christian Life Comes Up Short

Kenosha Christian Life was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 5-2 to the Heritage Christian Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 two weeks ago.

Daxton Lepinski was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Lepinski was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Kenosha Christian Life's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 7-12-1 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Jacob Plapp was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Kenosha Christian Life's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13-1. As for Heritage Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-8.

Kenosha Christian Life didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-3 win against Catholic Central on the 22nd. As for Heritage Christian, they will square off against Rio at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.86 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of.
