Preview: Uniontown Red Raiders vs. South Allegheny Gladiators
The Uniontown Red Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the South Allegheny Gladiators at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Uniontown is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Last Wednesday, Uniontown strolled past Laurel Highlands with points to spare, taking the game 66-52. Given Uniontown's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Laurel Highlands is ranked 529th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jamire Braxton, who scored 25 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Another player making a difference was K'Adrian McLee, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
South Allegheny was handed a three-point defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against East Allegheny on Thursday. South Allegheny claimed a resounding 79-39 victory over East Allegheny on the road. That 40 points margin sets a new team best for South Allegheny this season.
Uniontown's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.0 points per game. As for South Allegheny, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
