Basketball Recap: Dutchtown Comes Up Short

Dutchtown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 65-42 to the Central Wildcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Griffins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Wildcats are ranked 20th).

Dutchtown's loss dropped their record down to 12-19. As for Central, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-4.

Dutchtown has already played their next match (against Prairieville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Central Wildcats duke it out with the St. Martinville Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully St. Martinville likes a good challenge.
