Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Providence Athletic Club). They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 90-57 blowout they got against the Wardlaw Academy Patriots. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Providence Athletic Club to victory, but perhaps none more so than Freeman Bult, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Bult a new career-high in boards. Mark Lara was another key player, putting up 21 points and four steals.

Providence Athletic Club smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Wardlaw Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Resse Harper, who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Harper, who had 15 points.

Providence Athletic Club's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for Wardlaw Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Providence Athletic Club wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 76-63 defeat against South Charlotte on the 4th. As for Wardlaw Academy, they will square off against Cambridge Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Maddox Lee and Colt Bailey.
