Coventry's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They skirted past the Cranston East Thunderbolts 3-2. This was payback for the Oakers, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Coventry wouldn't go down easily and took Cranston East into a fifth set where they got it done with a eight-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-21, 15-25, 19-25, 15-7.

Masiah PrakPreaster paced Coventry's offense, picking up 16 kills. PrakPreaster got some help from Zackary Rzemien and his 39 assists. PrakPreaster was also a major player on defense: he and Cameron Marcotte shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Coventry's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Cranston East, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Coventry will face off against rival La Salle Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cranston East is set to challenge their familiar foe East Providence at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
