Baseball Recap: May River Has No Trouble Against Colleton County

May River never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against the Colleton County Cougars as they made off with a 9-0 win. The Sharks haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Micah Morgan was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one RBI.

In other batting news, May River let Derek Blesie and Finn Boyles run wild. Blesie went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Boyles went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Talon Putnam, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

May River's record is now 14-7. As for Colleton County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 15 of their last 16 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. May River will venture away from home to challenge White Knoll at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Colleton County, they will head out to square off against Beaufort at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
