Baseball Recap: Lyman Comes Up Short

Lyman suffered their closest defeat since April 29, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Lake Howell Silverhawks by a score of 5-3. The Greyhounds haven't had much luck with the Silverhawks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Kevin Cusick was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 4-for-6. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Noah Johnson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Lyman's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Lake Howell, they pushed their record up to 7-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Lyman will square off against Master's Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Master's Academy will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Lyman surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lake Howell, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against University at 6:00 p.m. The last three games Lake Howell has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
