Baseball Recap: Babcock Victorious

Babcock won the last time they faced East Lee County and things went their way on Friday too. Babcock came out on top against East Lee County by a score of 8-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trailblazers.

The team relied heavily on Brodie Hunter, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple. Babcock is undefeated when Hunter posts two or more runs, but 4-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Paxton Cooper, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Babcock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Babcock's record is now 8-6. As for East Lee County, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Babcock will head out to face off against Aubrey Rogers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Babcock's pitchers better be ready for this one: Aubrey Rogers has averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season. As for East Lee County, they will take on South Fort Myers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give East Lee County their first taste of in-conference action this season.
