Basketball Recap: Murrah Comes Up Short

Murrah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 65-40 to the Lanier Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 16th).

Murrah's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Lanier, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Murrah has already played their next contest, an 83-43 defeat against Germantown on the 31st. As for Lanier, they will venture away from home to face off against McComb at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lanier has three straight wins, McComb has 15 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
